Parliament Live: Support plans to develop nation, says Pranab

It’s that time of the year again. The Budget Session of Parliament is set to begin with the President’s address to both houses of Parliament to kick off the important session in which Parliament will debate over the Railway Budget, the Union Budget, legislation to make the nation safer for women, a VVIP chopper deal controversy, India-Pakistan relations among other topics. An additional problem is the accusations against Rajya Sabha deputy chairman PJ Kurien for his alleged involvement in the Suryanelli gangrape case, which the Kerala MP has stoutly denied. However, the Left parties are in no mood to let him off the hook. The functioning of Parliament is crucial to both the Opposition parties and the government given its likely to be the last Budget Session before the next national elections.  We track the first day of Parliament live.
