PTI[/caption] “2014 has been a year of success for BJP,” said Amit Shah, as he said that the party had been successful in every election held in the year. “I would like to thank the people of Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir for BJP’s success there.” Acknowledging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaigns in Jharkhand and J&K, Shah said, “I would like to congratulate PM Narendra Modi for his contribution to BJP’s success in both Jharkhand and Kashmir.” On Jharkhand elections, Shah said, “For the first time since the formation of the state, Jharkhand has given full support to BJP.” Maintaining the theme of good governance, the BJP’s national president said, “I want to assure the people of Jharkhand that we will provide good governance and fulfill our promise of development. BJP has strengthened its position in Jharkhand, where the party has increased its seats from 18 in 2009 to 41 this year,” Shah added. Taking a dig at the Janata Parivar alliance that was emerging, Shah said, “Jharkhand has annihilated the ambitions of the Janata Parivar.” Amit Shah also took a dig at Congress’ performance in both the states. “Congress has come down to either the third or fourth position in both states. This shows our campaign for a Congress-mukt India is progressing successfully,” he said. Even though no party got a clear majority in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said that BJP’s performance had improved in the state. “We have improved our tally in Jammu and Kashmir and BJP has emerged as a relevant force there,” Shah said. “BJP has emerged as the largest party in Jammu and Kashmir in terms of percentage of vote share.” “Jammu and Kashmir has become Congress-mukt,” said Shah. “Now, all options are open for the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Shah when he was question on having alliance in the state for government formation. Amit Shah also said that BJP’s success had been achieved due to the party’s focus on the agenda of development. “The poll verdict is a lesson for those who oppose our government’s agenda of development and change,” said Shah.
