Those who have worked for Nripendra Mishra swear by the man’s impeccable administration skills. The new PM’s principal secretary has had a good run – from being the former chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India to serving as Union home secretary in NDA’s 2004 government, Mishra seems more than capable of handling charge.
Narendra Modi’s office will be run super efficiently as Mishra is known to be a hard taskmaster.
“Top bureaucrats who have worked with (him) believe he will run a tight ship at the PMO as he’s a fiercely independent-minded workaholic,” said an Economic Times report.
Known for finishing work in record time, Mishra has a reputation for delivering what has been asked with absolute perfection. Modi’s new government will work under his hawk eye, and it looks like they couldn’t have picked a better man for the job.
So, what is it that Mishra will be doing? He will play a crucial role in regulating communication between the head of government and all top bureaucrats, says the ET report . He will also be in charge of executing and bringing to life the PM’s vision for the country.
Mishra’s long career has been ambitious - he has been a consultant for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Funds for Agricultural Development and the Government of Nepal, said a DNA report .
Apart from serving as the principal secretary, Mishra has also been vocal about his disapproval for the Aam Aadmi Party. According to the DNA report , he believed that “the AAP should shun its populism” and has criticised them for lacking long term vision.
Day One of the new government starts today and Mishra will join the Modi office, which is expected to begin work in full swing. Mishra will be privy to the policies and agendas that the government will churn out.
