The decision was taken at a special emergency general meeting of the NPF at Chumukedima in Dimapur district yesterday, said a release issued today by the newly appointed party secretary general Abu Metha. The statement claimed the meeting was attended by 430 members, which included 23 MLAs, two MPs, eight NPF division presidents and office bearers, 39 Assembly constituency unit presidents, central office bearers and office bearers of youth and women wings. The group resolved to revoke the suspension orders issued against nine MLAs Kaito Aye, Shetoyi, Zaleo Rio, Pukhayi, Tovihoto, Kuzholuzo Neinu, Pohwang, Imkong Imchen and Noke by Shurhozelie. The meeting also ratified all decisions taken by the NPF legislature party on 5 January, electing G Kaito Aye as its leader. Meanwhile, the newly appointed NPF president Noke Konyak said the decisions were taken because of the “unconstitutional, autocratic and dictatorial actions” of ousted NPF president Shurhozelie. PTI
