Senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh who was denied a BJP ticket from Barmer, has said that he is likely to file his nomination papers from the constituency of Barmer on Monday, but declined to say whether he would resign from the party, only saying ‘wait till tomorrow’ to reporters who asked him the question. Speaking to CNN-IBN a short while ago, Singh said that he found the idiom used to describe his role in the party ‘insulting’. He was referring to a television interview in which a senior party leader had said that the BJP could not ‘adjust’ Jaswant Singh earlier, and would do its best to ‘adjust’ him now. “I am not a piece of furniture to be adjusted”, he said. He also thanked Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj for extending her support to him. He said, “I am thankful to Sushmaji but she didn’t have to say she’s saddened. It’s clear. It’s also clear who is responsible for it.” Sushma had questioned the process through which Singh was denied nomination from the Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha seat. Sushma said, “The decision was not taken in the Central Election Committee meet and I’m personally unhappy with the outcome.” Singh did not name anyone but held those who run the party to be responsible for the present situation. He said, “Who do I blame? Obviously those who run the party.” Meanwhile, Singh’s son and Barmer MLA Manvendra has skipped a party meet called by Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje. He said that he is unwell. Vasundhra had summoned all party MLAs from the Barmer-Jaisalmer constituency
