BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took on the Third Front and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his rally in Purnia, Bihar. He accused Nitish of breaking JD(U)’s alliance with the BJP since the Bihar CM nurses ambitions of becoming the PM. “I was thinking for days, why our perfect alliance was broken. I was really trying to understand. Then I realised that PM dreams were keeping Nitish Kumar up all night,” Modi said addressing the rally. AP[/caption] Coming down heavily on the Third Front alliance, Modi said, “Some people in Third Front are former PMs and some who want to be PM in the future. Some of them have even gotten clothes stitched in the hope of becoming PM,” he said. He questioned why the Third Front only makes an appearance when the polls are announced. “Where was the Third Front during the Gujarat earthquake, during Assam and UP riots or when our jawans were being beheaded?” he asked. Modi also took a dig at the Congress saying, “Even cattle in Bihar are worried, what will happen to their fodder if Congress and its allies come to power again.” He slammed Rahul Gandhi for saying Congress had introduced mobile phones to India. “Shehzade ji you say we gave mobile phones to India but do we have the electricity to charge it?” Modi asked. Modi tried to reach out to the Muslims during his rally. He said," I want to tell my Muslim brothers that these parties have fooled you and used you like vote banks." “Doob maro secularism ke naam pe Muslims ko tabah karne waalon doob maro,” Modi said slamming the Congress and added, “The UPA has broken our society with its vote bank politics. Unity in diversity makes India unique. And I respect that.”
“I was thinking for days, why our perfect alliance was broken. I was really trying to understand. Then I realised that PM dreams were keeping Nitish Kumar up all night,” Modi said addressing the rally.
