Although it’s still not official, there’s a lot of buzz that ex-Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani may take the plunge into politics andcontest the next Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket.
According to Network18 sources, Congress may field Nilekani from Bangalore South.Currently, senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar is the MP from the constituency that Nilekani may be pitched for.
However, Nilekani is yet to take a call on contesting the elections.

Nilekani is an Indian entrepreneur and the Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
After a career at Infosys, he now heads the Government of India’s technology committee, TAGUP.
Nilekani co-founded Infosys along with Narayana Murthy and five others and served as its CEO from March 2002 to April 2007.
A Mint article says that Nilekani stand a good chance of succeeding, and it may just accelerate a transformation in Indian politics.
“Nilekani’s decision to get his hands dirty in the murky world of Indian politics is both brave and welcome,” it notes.
