Muzaffarnagar riots exposed SP-BJP connivance: Mayawati

Lucknow: BSP supremo Mayawati today alleged the recent riots in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts in Uttar Pradesh had exposed connivance between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP. Due to this connivance, no stern legal action could be taken against the guilty, she further alleged at meeting of party office-bearers here. The meeting was held to review party’s preparations for upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state. [caption id=“attachment_1221399” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  PTI[/caption] Referring to the Adhikar Yatra being organised by the Samajwadi Party for inclusion of 17 backward castes in the SC category, Mayawati said the ruling party in the state had done nothing except playing with the interest of these castes. She alleged the SP had already caused a damage to the OBC community and was now once again making efforts to mislead it. Mayawati said the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and the SP dispensation in UP had failed to deliver to the masses. The former Chief Minister alleged the BJP had a narrow mentality and was disturbing communal harmony. PTI
