Date: 13 July 2011 Chronology: 6:54 pm. First blast at south Mumbai’s crowded Khau Galli in Zaveri Bazaar, India’s largest diamond trading hub. The explosion occurred outside a store called Super Tools. 6.55 pm. An explosion at Opera House, catagorised as medium to high-intensity blast when a bomb kept on a motorcycle was used to trigger the explosion near the two-storey JK Building at Tata Road No. 1. 7:05 pm. A low-intensity blast at Kabootar Khana in Dadar outside Antonio D’silva school. Bomb placed in an electric meter near the bus stop along the school. Reuters”]  [/caption] Facts: • 18 people dead, including a severed head that is yet to be idenitified • 131 people injured • 23 of the 131 injured are seriously injured. Some critical • Forensic evidence collected from blast sites indicates use of Ammonium Nitrate with timer devices; not a remotely triggered blast • Blasts sites have been cordoned off • All groups capable of carrying out such attacks are suspects. No leads yet: Chidambaram • 2 incidents of terror post 26/11 in Maharashtra • Third blast in Zaveri Bazaar and second in Dadar since the 1993 serial blasts • CCTVs at the blast spots to help take investigation forward • The injured have been admitted to hospitals including the JJ Hospital, GT Hospital, KEM Hospital and St George’s Hospital • The CFSL teams from Delhi (7 members) and Pune (4 members) have reached Mumbai, visited all the sites and collected samples • NIA team reached Mumbai at 1.40 am on 14 July 2011 • 6-member post blast investigation team of NSG reached Mumbai at 2.25 am on 14 July 2011
