#ModiScaredOfArvind tops Twitter trends after AAP's Tomar arrested by Delhi Police

Politicians and Twitter have a love-hate relationship as revealed by the fluctuating Twitter trends everyday. Some days the trends reflect support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on others for Rahul Gandhi, but not a day goes by without a political hashtag trending on Twitter.

So when Delhi Law Minister Jitendra Tomar was arrested for over an alleged fake degree controversy, it came as no surprise that Twitter was abuzz. There were talks about how the arrest was made under controversial circumstances with the Delhi Police Commissioner and the Delhi Speaker reportedly being unaware of the charges. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia went on to say that the arrest was an act of revenge by the central government.

This lead to the #ModiScaredOfArvind trending on Twitter and soon it became the top trend with many people questioning the motive and timing of Tomar’s arrest. AAP member Kumar Vishvas joined in as well, retweeting several tweets with the hashtag.
