'Modi has NSG cover, NDA didn't even give Rajiv Gandhi SI security'

New Delhi: The Central government provides security to people as per threat perception and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi already has National Security Guard (NSG) cover, Minister of State for Home Affairs RPN Singh said Wednesday. Image courtesy: PIB[/caption] Singh said: “MHA will give full security as per the threat perception.” Meanwhile Zee News also quoted Singh as saying, “Would like to remind NDA of the type of security they had given former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, they had not given him a security of the sub-inspector level also and he lost his life. But I would like to assure the BJP that we are giving him full security.” He said Modi has already been provided NSG cover and he also gets extra security during programmes like rallies. The BJP on Tuesday demanded the Central government take all necessary steps to provide adequate security to Modi following 27 October serial blasts in Patna that left six dead and over 80 injured.
