Patna: Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar Wednesday filed her nomination papers for the Lok Sabha polls from Sasaram constituency in Bihar, officials said. “I am confident and sure that people will support and vote for me. PTI[/caption] A former IFS officer, Meira Kumar is the sitting Congress member of parliament from Sasaram. She is daughter of late Congress leader Babu Jagjivan Ram. Bihar’s ruling JD-U has fielded KP Ramiah, a retired IAS officer, against her, while the BJP has fielded former minister Chedi Paswan for the seat. In the last Lok Sabha polls in 2009, the Congress won only two of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, including that of Sasaram. IANS
