Yadav received a total of 62,417 votes against BJP’s Kusum Khatri who received a total of 44,256 votes. Congress’ Mohinder Chaudhary forfeited his deposit receiving just 6,952 (6.04 percent) votes. Well known for housing several historic sites, Mehrauli, is part of South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. The constituency went to the polls on 8 February and the counting of votes took place on 11 February. Demographics: Mehrauli is a predominantly rural constituency and was considered a Congress stronghold for many decades. According to reports, it is predominantly a Jat constituency, which is underlined by the fact that the Congress and BJP have named Jat candidates in the upcoming polls.
