In yet another indication of growing bonhomie among politicians opposed to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the country, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has invited her Bihar and Delhi counterparts Nitish Kumar and Arvind Kejriwal for an forthcoming business summit.

Kolkata: In yet another indication of growing bonhomie among politicians opposed to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the country, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has invited her Bihar and Delhi counterparts Nitish Kumar and Arvind Kejriwal for an forthcoming business summit. “Both Kejriwal and Nitish Kumar have been invited for the Bengal Global Business Summit, beginning on 7 January,” Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member and spokesperson Derek O’Brien said on Monday. PTI[/caption] Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and industry captains from from the US, China and Japan are likely to attend the summit. The move is seen as yet another effort by Banerjee to form a federal front she has been advocating. In September, Banerjee attended Kejriwal’s ambitious Chief Ministers’ Conclave on cooperative federalism in New Delhi. Speaking at the conclave, Banerjee slammed the Narendra Modi government for “running a parellel government through the governors”. IANS
