On September 22, the CBI opposed the bail pleas probing the case. Meanwhile, the Lokayukta court in Bangalore gave former Karnataka industries minister Katta Subramanium Naidu a three-month bail, for a bond of Rs 5 lakhs, on health grounds. Naidu is accused of irregularities in the allotment of land in BK Halli village, while he held the industries portfolio in the state. Land was allotted to a software firm, owned by his family, at throw away prices by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board. Naidu who claims to suffer from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma was earlier denied bail by the court but was permitted to undergo medical treatment anywhere in the country under the surveillance of jail authorities.
