Kiran Bedi can't manage her own assistant, how will she manage Delhi, says Congress

New Delhi: “How can those who failed to manage even their own personal assistants can manage the affairs of Delhi”, Congress said on Monday, taking a dig at BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi for the assembly polls. PTI[/caption] The barb by Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi came close on the heels of embarassment caused to BJP on Monday as Bedi’s campaign assistant Narendra Tandon quit the party accusing her of adopting a “dictatorial” attitude but withdrew it later. Tandon, a former secretary of the party’ city unit and a permanent invitee to Delhi BJP’s executive committee, had sent his resignation in the morning to party President Amit Shah, which was accepted. However, Tandon later said he withdrew his resignation as “it was an emotional decision to quit BJP.” Singhvi was equally critical of AAP that was accused of swindling money by a group of former members and supporters who said AAP received 50 lakhs last year through four bogus companies that were fronts for money-laundering. He said the charges “exposed” AAP and its leadership “which day in and day out doles out advice on morality.” Referring to the war between BJP and AAP over an advertisement targeting Arvind Kejriwal, Singhvi said that the two parties posed the choice between the devil and the deep sea before the electorate of Delhi. He claimed only Congress was talking about the issue of development and has a track record showing the progress of the national capital under its rule. Targeting Modi government, he said that swine flu was spreading in Delhi and even three to four doctors have died in the national capital at a time when “we get daily lectures of good governance”. Asked to react to reports that huge money was paid into a foreign bank account of a leader for joining BJP ahead of the Delhi polls, Singhvi said “I am personally not aware. If there is slightest truth, it should be looked into. This cannot be ignored”. PTI
