For most people, the term “protest by BJP activists” would conjure up images of massive crowds, fiery sloganeering and streets filled with saffron. What one would definitely not imagine is this image — a screenshot of a video which has now been deleted . The video was met with much disbelief, mirth and mockery on Twitter. One person called it a “new technique invented by the party to protest without protesters, while another said in a sarcastic vein that the video indicated that the saffron party would win “at least 100 seats in the next Assembly election.”

The BJP, which recently led frenzied protests over the entry of women of all ages into the Sabarimala temple in Kerala, failed to make political dividend and got only two seats in recently-concluded bypolls to local bodies. With inputs from PTI
