New Delhi: At yet another furious press conference that AAP is increasingly becoming known for, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accompanied by Manish Sisodia, aimed a set of challenges to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his name being included in an FIR in connection with the alleged tanker scam, Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday “welcomed” the same and said that nothing will happen even after the FIR was filed against him. “Modi-ji has intimidated everyone else through false complaints and probes. He wants to scare me as well. So, he got the FIR registered against me." He then changed the course of the conference to a series of salvos against Modi. “I stand alone in this. Narendra Modi is trying to scare me, destroy me. Respected Narendra Damodardas Modi, get as many FIRs registered against me (as you can), I will keep raising my voice…” He also claimed that Modi was trying to protect Sonia Gandhi in the AgustaWestland scam, saying, “If you try to save Sonia Gandhi in the case, I will raise my voice against it”. Following a pattern, Arvind Kejriwal ended the conference with, “You can’t silence me. Remember your fight is with me, Modiji”. The conference lasted around 15 minutes and Arvind Kejriwal did not take any questions from the media. Earlier, taking to Twitter, Kejriwal claimed that the Modi government was targeting him instead of registering FIR against the likes of Sonia Gandhi in any case, and asserted that he is not afraid of the “CBI and ACB of Modi”. “Modiji, you did not register FIR against (Robert) Vadra, did not register FIR against Sonia, did not register FIR in any cases, citing which you became the PM. “All the investigating agencies under you - CBI, police, ACB. You have asked them to go after me. You conducted CBI raid on me. Got nothing. Now, welcome your FIR. “I am glad that you have admitted that your fight is directly with me,” he said in a series of tweets.
Kejriwal’s comments come after a case was registered today by Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Branch in connection with the alleged 400-crore water tanker scam linking former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. ACB chief MK Meena said two complaints were received with regard to the scam and those named in the complaints include Dikshit and Kejriwal. He said both Dikshit and Kejriwal will be quizzed. with inputs from PTI
