Kejriwal keeps power and finance while Sisodia gets urban development and PWD portfolios

Aam Aadmi Party on Friday announced tentative portfolios for Chief Minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal and his cabinet of ministers that they will be handling for the next five years. Media reports said that Kejriwal will most likely keep key ministries of home, power and finance with himself while Manish Sisodia might get PWD, urban development and education. Jitendra Tomar, one of Kejriwal’s trusted men, will be in-charge of Law ministry. Gopal Rai got the ministry of Transport and Labour while Satyendra Jain got Health and Industry. Women and Child Development and SC/ST portfolio went to Sandeep Kumar who contested from Sultanpur and had a winning majority  of around 60,000. A lawyer by profession Sandeep helped AAP consolidate support of backward castes. [caption id=“attachment_2097839” align=“alignleft” width=“380” class=" “] ![Delhi CM-designate Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal will be heading a seven-member AAP cabinet which will include his close confidante Manish Sisodia as Deputy Chief Minister and four new faces, PTI had reported earlier. There will be no woman in the new cabinet. The party submitted a list of the seven cabinet ministers to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung. The swearing-in has been scheduled for Saturday. The party is understood to have decided to induct Jitendra Tomar (Tri Nagar MLA), Sandeep Kumar (Sultanpuri Majra) and Asim Ahmed Khan (Matia Mahal)- the only minority face- in the government. Name of Karawal Nagar MLA Kapil Mishra was doing the rounds for a ministerial berth but was later replaced by senior Political Affairs Committee member and Babarpur MLA Gopal Rai. All the four are first time legislators and the decision to induct them was taken at AAP Political Affairs Committee meeting in the wee hours today, sources said. Party sources added that the half of the cabinet could be replaced in a year if it doesn’t perform. “This time, the party does not have an issue of legislative arithmetic. If any of the ministers do not perform, then he could be replaced. More importantly, the party need not indulge in politics of tokenism this time,” said a the source. With inputs from PTI
