DMK supremo M Karunandhi made a statement yesterday threatening to pull out from the UPA government over the sharp price hike in petrol. But later in the day he did a complete U turn.
“I never said we will pull out. I only spoke of the past when we pulled out when the centre didn’t listen to us,” Karunandhi said.
He blamed the media for ‘misinterpreting’ him.“This is media mischief,” he said.
The DMK has 18 MPs in the Lok Sabha and is the third major alliance in terms of numbers. “If we come out the centre would become weak and we don’t want that.”
