New Delhi: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Joshi, known as Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s bete noire, claimed that he is receiving threat calls. Joshi wrote to Home Minister P Chidambaram and the Delhi Police Commissioner, urging them to investigate the matter. Joshi, in his letter to Chidambaram, says he fears for his life and has asked him to arrange for adequate security. [caption id=“attachment_371984” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  PTI[/caption] Joshi, his aide said, had written that he had been receiving death threats from an unknown caller for the past few weeks and should be given security. Joshi was forced to resign from the national executive of the party in May after Modi refused to attend the meeting. He subsequently quit the party on 8 June, reportedly on Modi’s demand. Following his resignation from the party, the RSS had expressed keeness to rehabilitate him as general secretary of its affiliate unit, the Bharatiya Itihaas Parishad. With inputs from IANS
