Ever since he broke off all ties from the BJP, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hasn’t lost an opportunity to make a comment about erstwhile ally BJP and its 2014 campaign chief Narendra Modi. However, he has always stayed away from naming his Gujarati counterpart.

Speaking today about the rescue efforts in Uttarakhand, the Bihar Chief Minister said he wasn’t a ‘Rambo’.

“I am not a Rambo who would go and rescue all Bihari people who are stranded in Uttarakhand,” Kumar told a press conference in Patna today, reported CNN-IBN.

He also said that unlike ‘others’ he did not “aspire to be in the news at all times”.

While the Bihar Chief Minister may not have taken Modi’s name, the statement was seen as a barb against the Gujarat Chief minister over claims that he had rescued thousands of Gujarati pilgrims who were stranded due to flooding in Uttarakhand.

The BJP had also responded to the statement and said it was better to be a ‘Rambo’ than a ‘Dumbo’.

The Bihar Chief Minister after breaking his party’s alliance with the BJP had earlier said that the elevating the Gujarat Chief Minister to national politics did not augur well for the BJP.
