Did you know that less than 30 to 35 % of young voters have valid Voter ID cards that makes them eligible to participate in the General Elections 2014? If you haven’t got your voter id card yet, here is your chance to stand up and make a difference in the next election. FirstVote - an initiative of Network18, gives you the chance to register for the voter id card. All you have to do is log on to www.firstpost.com/firstvote and register yourself with your details. But no more than 30 to 35 % of them have got registered. Which means about 7 to 8 crore young first time voters have not registered.” “It’s very important that they bring their sense of purpose, their energy, their youthfulness into the electoral discourse of 2014,” he said. Personalities ranging from AR Rahman, Amitabh Bachchan to Prasoon Joshi have pledged their support to this initiative to help India’s young population participate in the electoral process.
