Sangh Pariwar-guided Modi govt unleashing anti-minority terror campaign: CPI

Puducherry: Accusing “Hindutva” forces of unleashing an anti-minority terror campaign in the name of ‘Ghar Wapsi’, CPI on Wednesday said that all attempts are being made to divide the country on religious lines to create tensions and fear psychosis. While the party accused the “Sangh Pariwar-guided” Narendra Modi government of working “over time” to surrender national interests to satisfy corporates, it also alleged that there is a “match-fixing” between BJP and Congress in implementing the neo-liberal economic policies. “Hindutva forces are unleashing an anti-minority terror campaign, in the name of ‘Ghar Wapsi’ – a kind of re-conversions. All attempts are being made to divide the country on religious lines to create tensions and fear psychosis to divert attention from the major issues of the nation,” CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy said while delivering his inaugural speech at party’s XXII Congress here. [caption id=“attachment_2173023” align=“alignleft” width=“380” class=" “] ![Reuters image.](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/hindutva-reuters.jpg) Reuters image.[/caption] Noting that churches are being attacked and destroyed, and “cultural terrorism” under the guidance of Sangh Pariwar is being practised, Reddy said that attack on scientific temper, artists and writers is being increasingly unleashed. “The images of Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders of national movements are being tarnished to replace with Godse cult. Intolerance and hatred are on the increase,” he said. Alleging that the Narendra Modi government has offered concessions to Indian corporates, Reddy said that while income tax has been reduced by five per cent for the filthy rich and wealth tax is totally abolished, labour laws are amended to suit the needs of industrialists. “Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Act is amended first through ordinance and attempts are being made to get it passed in Rajya Sabha also. “Insurance Amendment Act has been amended to allow 49 percent FDI with the help of Congress party. There is a match-fixing between the BJP and Congress in implementing the neo-liberal economic policies like insurance Amendment bill,” the party General secretary alleged. Reddy observed that last year’s Lok Sabha elections brought a “rabid communal pro-corporate BJP” to power, and said it was not just a transfer of power from one bourgeoisie party to another but a transfer to “most reactionary political outfit directly guided by Sangh Pariwar.” Reddy alleged that the “corporate media and their financial powers” directly “shamelessly” intervened to create an atmosphere of “manufacturing the consent” in favour of BJP during the elections. “The result of Delhi election is rejection of the people of BJP’s communal and economic policies. It has shaken the ruthlessness and confidence of Sangh Pariwar. But instead of taking proper lessons, they may resort to more communal divide,” he said. Decrying the style of functioning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “autocratic, secretive and individualistic”, Reddy said, “Personality cult has taken to ugly heights till it was punctured in Delhi elections.” He noted that the “demagogy” of Narendra Modi with tall promises to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks and financial institutions, to clean the nation from corruption, control prices and others had “trapped” large sections of “uncommitted” people thus paving way for BJP to power. He said that the “tall talk” of bringing back black money remains limited to promises of some actions only exposing the BJP’s real face. The party Congress will continue up to March 29. Reddy alleged that coal mines are being given on long lease, virtually privatising them to exploit them fully. Noting that BJP dominated standing committee recommended reducing the food security to four per cent people, he said that it paved the way for denying food to the poor and needy while no attempt is being made to control prices of food grains and essential commodities which are again sky-rocketing. “Also, 28 crore people in our country are suffering under utter poverty, living a miserable life while 25 per cent of the national wealth is being looted by 681 families or corporate houses. “Peasants are in distress and hundreds of them are committing suicides to escape from the debt trap in Vidarbha, Telangana, Karnataka and other places. The governments refuse to accept these facts,” he said, while adding that corruption is on increase in the government departments. PTI
