Govt must resign: Advani to UPA

Veteran BJP leader LK Advani, who winded up his 38-day long Jan Chetna Yatra against corruption today at the Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi sounded the BJP’s poll bugle by calling for a political change at the Centre. “If there is corruption today in the country, it is because of this government. It is the worst, most corrupt government. There is a lack of political will in preventing corruption in the country,” Advani said slamming the Congress-led UPA 2 government, a CNN-IBN report said.[caption id=“attachment_135335” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“BJP leader LK Advani. Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said that the country was economically much better-off during the NDA rule. The CNN-IBN report quotes him, “There was no problem with the telecom policy of NDA for the last 11 years. Economic situation of the country is not fine. Every economic sector is facing problem, the government is paralysed. Nobody is able to answer in the present government.” Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj also used the opportunity to criticise the policies of the Manmohan Singh government. The Times of India report quoted Janata Dal-United (JD-U) chief Sharad Yadav, who also addressed the rally. “The government lodges us in jail when we raise our voices against corruption,” Yadav said. The Times of India report added that Yadav, who is also convenor of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), said the government was not employing the same yardstick for Congress leaders who are allegedly involved in corruption.
