Congress leader Shashi Tharoor today responded to the party’s decision to oust him as a spokesman and said that while he accepted the decision of the party, he would have welcomed an opportunity to respond to Kerala Congress’ complaint before the All India Congress Committee (AICC). Image courtesy PIB[/caption] In a statement uploaded on his Facebook and Twitter pages, Tharoor said: “While I have not yet seen the KPCC complaint referred to, and while I would have welcomed an opportunity to respond to it and draw the attention of the AICC leadership to the full range of my statements and writings on contemporary political issues…” Tharoor said, adding he would not comment on the issue any longer. Tharoor drew flak from the Kerala unit of the Congress for his repeated praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his initiatives like the Swachh Bharat campaign.
