AFP Andhra Pradesh has seen many protests for and against a separate Telangana. AFP[/caption] Ajit Singh (Rashtriya Lok Dal): At the UPA co-ordination meet right now the decision has been taken to form Telangana. There are so many issues are to be sorted out but the decision to form the new state has been taken today. Keshav Rao (TRS): We are happy about the UPA decision. However, we would like to wait till the bill is passed in Parliament. On the question of Hyderabad there is no question of any compromise. Hyderabad should be the capital of Telangana. We will accommodate others from the state only as long as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh is not built. Digvijaya Singh (Congress): The decision of a separate Telangana state was not because of any political expediency or compulsion Prakash Javadekar (BJP): Telangana is a struggle by people for 56 years and betrayal of Congress for 56 years. We will first decode the decision and give our full reaction tomorrow. DA Somayajulu (YRS Congress): The Congress is merely attempting to stem its political losses in the state by forming the new state. Prakash Karat (CPM): Now that a decision is being taken on the break up of Andhra Pradesh, I think that creating new states must be looked at afresh. I don’t think we should go on this path. KT Rama Rao (TRS): The mood is hopeful and optimistic, but at the same time lot of observations are coming in because we have been through this before. We are very cautious at this juncture, because we want the bill to be passed in the Parliament and until that happens the people of Telangana are not in a mood to celebrate.
