AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal was asked 5 questions by the BJP. Firstpost[/caption] “From 29 January to 5 February, everyday at a press conference, the BJP will pose five questions to Arvind Kejriwal,” said Union Minister and BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy. “Kejriwal has based his campaign on falsehood, he abandoned Anna Hazare.” BJP also took a dig at Kejriwal’s objections over not being invited to the Republic Day parade. “If Kejriwal claims to be an ‘aam aadmi’, why did he want an invitation to the Republic Day? Couldn’t he have attended the Republic Day celebrations in the stands with the ‘aam aadmi’?” asked Rudy. Rudy also said that on 20 January 2014, Kejriwal, during a protest, had announced that Republic Day celebrations will not be allowed in Delhi. But Kejriwal not only allowed the Republic Day celebrations that year but also attended the celebrations in the area allocated for VIPs. “Arvind Kejriwal is trying to fool the people of Delhi by spreading lies,” said the BJP leader. Rudy also said that BJP would not have asked these questions to Kejriwal had he not made an issue out of such topics. But since Kejriwal claimed that the issues posed in these questions was what separated AAP from the other parties, BJP was “compelled” to ask these questions. Here are the five questions BJP posed to Kejriwal: 1. Why did Kejriwal form Delhi government with Congress? “On 2 December, 2013, he had said he would have no tie-up with the Congress,” said Rudy. The BJP leader then asked why Kejriwal formed the Delhi government in 2014 through an alliance with the Congress. “We want to ask him what caused a fall in his character due to which he had to take such a step,” said Rudy. 2. Kejriwal promised to file a case against Sheila Dikshit. Why was no case registered? “Kejriwal had said that after he came to power, he would file a case against Sheila Dikshit. Why was no case registered against her?” asked Rudy. “He had promised to expose corruption,” the BJP leader said, adding that he went back on that promise. 3. Why did Kejriwal take Z category security? Rudy said that Kejriwal, in an affidavit, had said he would not employ even one security personnel on becoming the Delhi chief minister. “Then why did he accept the Z security from the Uttar Pradesh government and also security from the Delhi Police?” asked Rudy. “He wants to look like the aam aadmi. He wants to stay away from the lal batti,” said Rudy, adding that Kejriwal’s actions indicated otherwise. “Today, BJP leaders are closer to the aam aadmi,” he said. 4. Why did AAP ask for SUVs for official purposes? Pointing out that Arvind Kejriwal had come for the 2014 swearing-in ceremony for Delhi in a metro, Rudy asked, “Why did AAP ask for SUVs for official purposes? How have the comforts of life caught on him so heavily that he (Kejriwal) asked for such costly vehicles?” 5. Why did Kejriwal travel in a private jet during Lok Sabha polls? “During the Lok Sabha polls, he had opposed travelling by private jets. While returning from Gujarat during Lok Sabha elections, why did he use a chartered plane to travel?” asked Rudy. He also Kejriwal for travelling by business class in a plane. In response to the five questions posed by BJP to Kejriwal, AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said, “The English phrase for the BJP’s five questions for Kejriwal is: this is a damp squib.” Yadav also said that this was a sign of desperation from the BJP. “Let Kiran Bedi come and debate with Kejriwal. We will answer all questions on that forum,” he said.
