EC transfers Gujarat bureaucrats for fair poll

Gandhinagar: RJ Patel will take over as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Surat Urban Development Authority ( SUDA) while LC Patel will be the new additional development commissioner of Gujarat. These two officials were among the four who were transferred out from their earlier postings by the Election Commission, as per a Times of India report . Reuters[/caption] The other two officials JM Luni and JB Vora were appointed as as deputy commissioners of Ahmedabad and Surat Municipal Corporations, respectively. “In addition, H S Patel has been given additional charge of secretary Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (UJVNL) at Vadodara, a post vacated by Shahmina Hussain. Patel is currently the managing director of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited”— the Times of India report said . The Election Commission also transferred the district collectors of Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Tapi and Dahod. Polling in the state will take place on 13 and 17 December. PTI
