The NCP leader whose son is accused of running over and killing a two-year-old in Aurangabad today claimed that it wasn’t his son behind the wheel but the chauffeur. “When my son came to me I asked him if he was driving the car but since he was very disturbed mentally I didn’t question him further. Then I asked the driver who told me that he was driving the car,” Abdul Qadeer told Times Now The NCP leader told the channel, that police were investigating the case and added that they would comply with the probe, no matter what the findings threw up. The case is now in a court and the court has given them bail. Whatever the court’s verdict is we will accept it,” he said, adding that he sympathised with the family of the two-year-old who had died in the incident. However, the uncle of the girl who was killed, a witness in the case, told the channel that he had clearly seen the driver of the vehicle and would be able to identify him again if needed. The local police officials also said that the 17-year-old driver of the vehicle had been produced before a juvenile court and the driver before a court. Both had subsequently been released and will continue to face legal proceedings, they said. However, the police said that as per the evidence the 17-year-old boy was behind the wheel of the car when he ran over the girl, struck a motorcycle and then slammed into a pillar before coming to a halt.
