New Delhi: Ahead of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Bhopal, BJP has issued a circular saying stereotypical representation of Muslims should be stopped. The party is trying to reach out to Muslims and projecting its prime ministerial candidate Modi in a new avatar. Narendra Modi was caught on the back foot when refused to wear a skull cap offered by a Muslim cleric in his Sadbhavana Yatra in 2011. However, skull-cap weraing Muslims have been a recurrent feature in most of his rallies these days, courting controversy that BJP is trying to impose a dress code for the Muslims. All state units have been told not to indulge in showcasing Muslims at rallies.” Taking a dig at the BJP, Minority Affair Minister Rahman Khan said, “How do we know they are Muslims? Anybody can buy and wear caps.”
