One of the first reactions to Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s address to Indian residing in the US came, very predictably, from Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. Modi, in his speech, had ripped the Congress apart and had taken a not-so-subtle dig at Manmohan Singh. He said that ‘scholars’ might be great at winning debates, but they aren’t always the best people to run the country. Hitting back at Modi, Singh resorted to his usual unflattering rhetoric and called Modi ‘Feku’. He also said that Modi was much like the leopard which can never change his spots. Contesting Modi’s claims that the UPA has undone every good thing that the NDA under Atal Behari Vajpayee had done, Digvijaya said that the Gujarat CM had concocted facts to support his claims. Digvijaya Singh’s tweets.[/caption] Earlier in the day, Modi had said that India’s growth rate under the NDA 8.4 percent, where as the UPA has brought it down to 4.8 percent. Yet again, he challenged Modi to a debate with any Congress leader on issues of development and governance. “UPA giving its report card every year on every issue.Would Modi pl get his team to look at the UPA Govt website instead of abusing ?” he said, adding, “UPA has fulfilled every promise made. Empowered people by giving Rights on Information,Education,Food Security to Women Tribals and to Work.” Following are a few of his other tweets attacking Modi and the BJP:
