Delhi BJP accuses Cong leaders of hindering probe into terror cases

New Delhi: Delhi BJP today accused certain Congress leaders of indulging in vote bank politics alleging that they were siding with protesters who were not allowing police to carry out probe into some suspected terror cases. Senior Delhi BJP leader V K Malhotra also alleged that adequate security cover has not been provided to Narendra Modi despite inputs about possibility of terrorists targeting him. [caption id=“attachment_1450381” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  AFP[/caption] “These terrorists were targeting the public meetings of Narendra Modi at the behest of Pakistan and planning to trigger riots before the elections,” he told reporters. He also accused a number of Congress leaders of not allowing the police to investigate certain suspected terror cases while referring to a comment by Union Minister Kapil Sibal yesterday. Responding to a question on detention of two youths from Jamia Nagar on Sunday on the suspicion that they had links with IM operatives arrested from Rajasthan, Sibal had said he was “sad” and “worried” at the development. The two were later released. “There are certain areas in Delhi where police can’t even enter for questioning and are met with protests and some Congress leaders are supporting those protests,” Malhotra alleged. He welcomed the arrest of Indian Mujahidin chief Tehsin Akhtar alias Monu, top IM operative Zia Ur Rehman alias Waqas and three others by Delhi Dolice. Meanwhile, BSP leader Trilokchand Sharma and Congress worker Mukesh Kumar Jain joined BJP today. PTI
