"AIADMK, after the death of late chief minister and its supremo J Jayalalithaa, is a faction-ridden party, without any single symbol or a leader," he told reporters in Coimbatore.

Thus, the BJP is exploiting the situation in its favour and is aiming to get a foothold in Tamil Nadu, he added.

AIADMK leaders were not able to exert pressure on the Centre to get exemption from National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical courses and was instead bowing before the Centre, the CPI leader alleged.

Asked what he thought of DMK working president MK Stalin, Pandian said as an opposition leader, he was functioning well and had taken up welfare measures like desilting of lakes and ponds.
