Rajkot: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh claimed the UPA government is in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the countdown for parliamentary election will begin after the result of Gujarat assembly poll next month. “The UPA government has no control over inflation and is riddled with scams. I don’t understand on which issues Congress candidates in Gujarat are contesting election,” the BJP leader said on Monday.[caption id=“attachment_537423” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh. The Congress-led ruling coalition at the Centre is in ICU and once the Gujarat Assembly poll result is announced the countdown for general election will begin, he said. Congress has lost the right to seek votes from the people as its government is mired in corruption and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been maintaining silence over the issue, the chief minister alleged. Singh praised the Narendra Modi government for its focus on development of Gujarat and said BJP will bag more assembly seats this time as compared to last election. BJP had won 117 out of 182 seats in the 2007 Gujarat assembly poll. PTI
