Congress wants FIR against Swamy for comments on Priyanka

The Congress on Wednesday complained to the Election Commission against BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and demanded that an FIR be filed against him for his remarks against Priyanka Gandhi. According to IBN-Live, Swamy reportedly called Priyanka an alcoholic and said that she would have been thrashed if she contested the elections from Varanasi since she drank too much. One of his tweets was, “Is (sic) alchohol drinking considered bad by society? If not then why Booze’s crowd upset? If yes then why drink it?” Swamy also went on to tweet that those who are using the Gandhi surname should perhaps read what the Mahatma had to say about alcohol. “People who misuse Gandhi name should read what he said about alcohol. Did he regard it as a personal issue,” he tweeted. The report on IBN-Live says, that Congress leader Kapil Sibal has filed a complaint against Swamy to the Election Commission. Swamy had also tweeted against Sibal, saying that the Congress leader had not declared assets owned by his wife. “Sibal has given fudged answers to my question of law on why he failed to disclose in his affidavit his wife shares in three companies,” was what Swamy had tweeted. According to Sibal,“He (Swamy) alleged that my wife is into export business. All these allegations are wrong. I have requested the EC to file an FIR against Swamy.” On Tuesday, Congress workers had protested outside Swamy’s house over his remarks. Check out some of Swamy’s tweets below:
