As the last phase of the prolonged six phase election in West Bengal came to an end on Thursday, we bring you an overview of the month long election. From Mamata’s social media campaigns to fruit mascots, West Bengal did not fail to remind people that it is still a state that takes its politics and politicians very seriously. Voter turnout was high in all the phases, with poll percentage wavering around 78-80%. Now all that’s left to do is wait to see if Mamata Banerjee’s party comes through despite an undercurrent of anti-cumbency, or the formidable CPM regains it’s position.
