Hyderabad: As part of its investigation in cases pertaining to YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy and “irregularities” in APIIC-Emaar land deal, the CBI  on Sunday  issued notices to two firms and was in the process of serving notices to other accused, including the YSR Congress chief. Following the FIR and raids at YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy’s properties, 25 Congress MLAs and the two MPs are expected to submit their resignations to the speaker on Monday morning. “The examination (of accused) process would begin soon. Notices have been issued to an official of Jagati Publications here and another Bangalore-based firm today. More notices will be served from tomorrow against all those who have been listed as accused in both the cases. Notices will also be issued to witnesses,” a senior CBI officer said, adding, the agency will also issue notice to Jaganmohan Reddy. He said the central agency was scrutinising the documents and articles including hard-disks that were seized from various office premises, business establishments besides residences during the searches, that were carried out last week at different firms that invested in the business entities of Jaganmohan. Responding to a query whether the CBI has asked banks to freeze the accounts of Jaganmohan and others, the official replied in the negative. On 17 August, CBI registered a case against Jagan, the son of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, on the instructions of Andhra Pradesh High Court, for offences like cheating, criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and under the Prevention of Corruption Act. In the FIR, CBI has accused Jaganmohan of “conspiring” with his father and other individuals and companies to “cheat the government of Andhra Pradesh in the matter of granting certain favours to many companies”. In the case related to the Emaar deal, CBI has alleged that B P Acharya, senior IAS officer and former Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), who is now the state’s Principal Secretary (Home), entered into a criminal conspiracy with officials of Emaar Group and unknown public servants to cheat APIIC, to secure a wrongful gain to Emaar. CBI has conducted extensive searches at the residence of Acharya and the office of Emaar here and also seized certain documents. Agencies
