New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday said it would hear on Tuesday a criminal complaint seeking action against AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly exhorting voters to take bribes from BJP and Congress and vote for his party. The matter, which was scheduled to come up for hearing today, was posted for tomorrow as Metropolitan Magistrate Richa Gusain Solanki was on leave on Monday. Kumar has alleged that Kejriwal, despite himself being a former Delhi chief minister and knowing the fact that acceptance of bribe is punishable under law, instigated the voters to do such a thing. The complaint sought Kejriwal’s prosecution for alleged offences of abetment, offering or accepting bribe and punishment for bribery under the Indian Penal Code. The Election Commission has already ordered Kejriwal to “desist” from making such comments on bribing of voters by political parties and warned him of strict action in the event of any violation. PTI
