The body of the nine-year-old girl, who was washed away in a drain during heavy rains in Bangalore on Monday, has been found.
According to CNN-IBN reports, the body was fished out of the drain that leads to the Madiwala lake in Bangalore.
The incident took place when the girl was returning with her aunt after visiting a relative, police said. She had falled into a drain that was not covered because a pavement was being laid in that area.
A Times of India report said that “the accident occurred between 7.30 pm and 7.45 pm about 2 km after Jaya deva hospital flyover and 200 metres before IIM-Bangalore on Bannerghatta Road”
Marathon rescue operations had been carried out since then by fire brigades and police personnel, the NDRF was also roped in.
