After BJP senior leader LK Advani’s veiled criticism of party leaders on his blog, the party’s magazine has also jumped on the bandwagon criticising Modi for damaging ’the fabric of the party’ and other  leaders for failing to address the demoralisation within the party. In it’s editorial, the Kamal Sandesh criticised Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, calling him “a man in a hurry, who is damaging the fabric of the party”. Modi had attended the BJP national executive meet only after the resignation of rival Sanjay Joshi, a BJP leader seen as a link to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).  While both have maintained a studious silence on the incident, the  incident was viewed as one where party president Nitin Gadkari gave in to Modi’s demands. Kamal Sandesh in its editorial on the just concluded BJP National Executive meet has taken a swipe at the leadership and lamented the demoralisation within the party. This comes after Advani’s criticism of the party leadership. [caption id=“attachment_328369” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“A widening gulf? But the irony is that it is always seen that on reaching the top even after knowing that a day will come when he has to come down he tries to belittle the one’s below him. When we applaud a person more than required then we in fact ourselves open the door of his possible distraction. Similarly if one is criticized in extremity, we open the door for his possible exit," i t said . The editorial said the BJP cannot ignore the fact that it failed in the polls in UP. “This is not the first time they have tasted defeat in elections, but losing has never before made them feel so disheartened or morose. But today, every karyakarta (BJP worker) is feeling depressed. He is perturbed. What shall I tell to the persistent, anxious queries of people,” the magazine wrote reported DNA . In Advani’s blog, references were made to the good work of Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, but not to Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari. However, noted by Firstpost , “Non-mention of any name in any blog should normally not be cause for comment, but in the context of the fact that the recent BJP meeting was all about Modi, what is not mentioned becomes as important as what is,” .
