BJP working on 'agenda and time table' set by RSS, alleges CPI(M)

New Delhi: CPI(M) on Thursday accused the ruling BJP of working on an “agenda and time table” set by the RSS and said that fight has to be taken against the NDA government and the Hindutva outfit which follows “pernicious ideology” and engages in “communal politics”. AFP[/caption] Referring to the recent RSS-BJP co-ordination meeting, where several senior Union ministers reportedly made presentations before the Hindutva outfit, the CPI(M) also alleged the Narendra Modi government of being a “cosy club” of ‘swayamsevaks’ (volunteers). “The BJP government under Modi, who himself was an RSS pracharak, is working to an agenda and time table set by RSS. The RSS, in turn, is an authoritarian organisation with a reactionary ideology. “The fight against the government and its retrograde policies has, thus, to be taken up along with the fight against RSS and its pernicious ideology and communal politics,” ex-CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat said in editorial of forthcoming issue of party mouthpiece ‘People’s Democracy’. Karat said the co-ordination meeting has shown the “tie” between RSS and its “political arm” BJP is getting “institutionalised” now. He refused to buy argument that it was the first such meeting taking place and claimed the integration between RSS and BJP government has reached a “higher level” after the latter acquired absolute majority in Lok Sabha. Karat said the co-ordination has another “disturbing” aspect and claimed RSS and other extremist Hindutva outfits are conducting “systematic offensive” against all that is considered to be “alien” to Hindutva. The party politburo member also claimed it was the RSS directive which led Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) to pull out from 2 September All India strike, called by the trade unions, “to help Modi government proceed with change in labour laws.” PTI
