There is little doubt about the fact that the BJP will leave no stone unturned to bolster their prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Given that the Congress has served them issues to exploit during the poll campaign on a platter, BJP will be looking forward to covering up whatever mess is their on its own tracks. One of the issues that the BJP will need to battle in these polls is the Congress’ constant reference to their communally divisive nature. The Times of India
reports:
Ananth Kumar said the different committees to be formed will take care of the party’s election manifesto, parliamentary election meetings, “chargesheet” against UPA, development agenda and other things.
Zee News reports that the BJP will stress equally on public outreach and strengthening the party’s internal organisation and poll preparedness. Given that they have been suffering from conflicts of interest and dissent for a long time, the BJP really needs to stand up as a united front. With Ram Jethmalani’s exit, Nitin Gadkari’s replacement by Rajnath Singh after senior party leaders revolted and the most recent spat between LK Advani and the party leadership, the BJP needs to pull plugs on its own organisation as soon as possible. And that is what they are focusing on right now. A report on Zee News states:
Throwing more light on BJP’s strategy for the Lok Sabha polls, party general secretary said, “We have two strategies for elections…first it will be political rallies in the country and second is organisational. We will have a strategy for each booth and there will be several committees for this”.
Now, time will say how successful their strategy will be.
