Far from Bihar and the BJP old guard’s revolt that has consumed him just before Diwali, things look a bit better for Narendra Modi abroad. [caption id=“attachment_2502900” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Narendra Modi under attack after Bihar rout/ PTI[/caption] Even as the L K Advani bombshell exploded on Diwali eve which used the choicest words to blame Modi and Amit Shah for the Bihar debacle, British Premier David Cameron used superlatives like “extraordinary” to describe Modi’s visit to the country.“I am excited by what Prime Minister Modi is doing in India,” he said while BJP in India scrambled to defend Modi and Shah from a powerful backlash from the party’s old guard after the Bihar rout. Even further West, President Obama called up Modi to greet him on Diwali. Not exactly the double Diwali Modi promised to Bihar voters who chucked out the BJP, but good enough to tweet. Here’s a sample of what Narendra Modi’s twitter account looked like while Advani lashed out and BJP scrambled for cover. Westward Ho.

President Obama & I discussed a wide range of other issues as well. It was good knowing how @WhiteHouse is marking Diwali.

A short while ago @POTUS called. We exchanged Diwali greetings. This was our first conversation through the newly established hotline.
