The Congress in Madhya Pradesh released a “chargesheet” against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party government of fraud worth Rs 1.46 lakh crore. Leader of the Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Ajay Singh said the chargesheet includes 16 scams perpetrated by the BJP regime. “He alleged the chief minister had indulged in personal corruption and his wealth had multiplied in the last few years. He also accused CM’s wife Sadhna Singh, his elder brother Narendra Chouhan and his wife’s brother Sanjay of amassing wealth,” said

. The Congress party’s litany of charges includes allegations made by the then rebellious Uma BHarati in 2008. BJP’s state vice-president Prabhat Jha was quoted saying the chief minister had filed a defamation suit against the Opposition. He also said the Congress should have approached the courts if the allegations were indeed backed up with evidence.
