BJP presses for PM's resignation, Rajya Sabha adjourned till noon

New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha was on Tuesday adjourned till noon as the BJP continued with its demand for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s resignation over irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks and other issues. The upper house of parliament was adjourned minutes after the day’s proceedings began at 11 a.m. amid slogans by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members. When his entreaties for silence went unheeded, Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourned the house till noon. The BJP has said it will not let parliament function till Manmohan Singh resigns over the alleged involvement of his office in irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks and 2G spectrum. IANS
