BJP party president Amit Shah launched his website with much fanfare on Sunday, hoping it will help interact with the people of the country, and party workers. Shah dedicated his maiden blog to Hindutva pioneer Veer Savarkar, calling him his “ideal”. Savarkar’s mantra was “one nation, one cultural value and nationalism” and the BJP chief asked people to join him in making the India of Savarkar’s dream. Shah said he had tears in his eyes whenever he thought about the torture Savarkar suffered during British rule, and the way he was ignored in independent India. moments termed ’lighter side'
that showcase cartoons across newspapers, some that even poke fun at the leader. That’s not all. His gallery also includes the BJP leaders ‘precious moments’ where he is pictured with other political leaders close to his heart like Narendra Modi and APJ Abdul Kalam, He has also shared pictures of himself with the Indian cricket team and some that show his ‘spiritual side’ as well. “I always receive complaints from people that I interact less with media. I do accept that. I have found a simpler way to interact with the people of the country, and particularly, the workers of the party through this website,” Shah said at the launch. He said different activities of the party, government and those involving himself will be available on www.amitshah.co.in
, which will help in the dissemination of information to workers. Apart from news and editorials, his press section has one unique feature that most Indian politicians tend to shy from: Critics. His website has included pieces that
criticise the BJP leader
from newspapers and websites. The BJP chief said the website will be fully operational and all its content will be available within a week and shortcomings, if any, removed. And if you’re really a fan of Amit Shah, then his website also allows you to download screensavers, wallpapers, ringtones and Facebook cover pictures! With inputs from PTI
