BJP has launched a positive campaign in Maharashtra, says Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi: BJP on Wednesday said it has launched a positive campaign in Maharashtra and is not diverting from the core issue of highlighting “misgovernance and corruption” during Congress-NCP rule in the state and providing people with an alternative development-oriented government. The party also said that it would not join issue which is not relevant with any other political party during campaigning in the state and claimed it will get a clear majority going by the response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rallies. Ibnlive[/caption] “We are are not joining issue which is not relevant with any political party in Maharashtra. We are going to the people with a positive campaign and telling them on what alternatives we are giving them. We are also highlighting the wrongs of the Congress-NCP rule. “We are getting a good response and BJP will form government with absolute majority in Maharashtra,” BJP leader and I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar said. He said the Prime Minister’s rallies were getting unprecedented support from the public. Javadekar claimed Congress and NCP put will up the worst-ever tally. “Congress and NCP will get the worst tally. This time both Congress and NCP put together will get less than 80 seats,” he said. The Maharashtra Assembly has a total of 288 seats. The minister, who hails from Maharashtra, said the party would have wished the alliance with Shiv Sena to continue and felt that had Balasaheb Thackeray been alive now, the alliance would have stayed. Quoting a survey, he said after the break-up of its alliance with Shiv Sena, BJP was project to get two-thirds of the votes that the alliance got in Lok Sabha polls and Sena only one-third. Congress will get two-thirds of the votes that the Congress-NCP alliance got in Lok Sabha polls, with NCP getting only one-third, he said on the basis of the survey. Asked to clarify the party’s stand on Vidarbha issue, he said BJP’s position remains the same. “There is no change in BJP’s stand. This is not an issue like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” he said.
