Speaking to journalists at Chhatar village on Sunday, Hooda alleged the sugarcane farmers in the state have sent their crops to the mills but have not yet recieved a payment for it.
Hooda said Congress President Sonia Gandhi had herself visited many districts in the state and taken a stock of the damages incurred by the farmers in the aftermath of the unseasonal rains and hailstorms in Haryana.
Taking a jibe at Union Minister Birender Singh, Hooda said he can bring Union Minister Birendra Singh back in the fold of the Congress party.
Before the Assembly polls in the state Birender Singh had reportedly said that he could bring Hooda in the BJP fold.
Birender Singh had been a Congress member before he joined the BJP ahead of the 2014 Assembly election.
Asked about his reaction on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann ki Baat' programme, Hooda refrained from making any comment saying he had not "heard it".
