BJP is going to blame Kiran Bedi for its defeat in Delhi polls: Arvind Kejriwal

The battle for Delhi just got more interesting with CM candidates of AAP and BJP, Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi, landing up in the Krishna Nagar almost at the same time to address voters. Aam Aadmi Party chief Kejriwal in his address launched a scathing attack on the BJP saying the party did not know what to do and had conceded defeat in Delhi, and that is why they had brought in Kiran Bedi so they can blame the loss on her. Kejriwal began his speech by thanking the people for turning up at his rally in huge numbers. “BJP must’ve got a message that AAP is winning the Krishna Nagar seat in Delhi,” he said. He said that AAP will win the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. A TV channel got questioned about why they showed empty chairs at that time… On 10 February, BJP will accuse Kiran Bedi of being responsible of its defeat in Delhi,” he said. Then he attacked Kiran Bedi saying she had earlier said that the needs of the people of Delhi go beyond the need for electricity, Kejriwal said, “Kiranji, you don’t even know what the people of Delhi want… interact with and talk to the people of Delhi to find out what they want.” On the issue of BJP members protesting outside the Delhi BJP headquarters over poll tickets given to ‘outsiders’, Kejriwal said, “On one hand, AAP gives hope to the people. On the other hand, there is the BJP which keeps fighting and indulging in violence.” He also accused the BJP leaders of being obsessed about how to defeat him in elections rather than other important issues like women’s security. “BJP leaders constantly keep worrying about how Kejriwal will be defeated… Every tom, dick and harry is coming together to plan on how to trump Kejriwal… Despite their victory in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand, BJP is now scared in Delhi.” “You voted for the BJP with a lot of hope. Now everyone in Delhi feels betrayed,” said Kejriwal. “BJP had promised to reduce price of power supply by 30 percent. Instead they increased the price by 15 percent in Delhi… BJP promised to reduce prices, but they are increasing the prices of commodities one by one.” The AAP chief also said that corruption had risen in the country after the BJP had come to power. “They had promised to bring blackmoney back in 100 days… BJP lied to the country,” said Kejriwal. “Before elections, BJP talked about vikaas. Now they are talking about dharm parivartan and making Nathuram Godse’s statues,” he said. Kejriwal also said that the BJP was against women empowerment and security. “One of the BJP leaders said women should have four children. Are women children producing machines?” he asked. He added that BJP leaders had also talked about how women should not wear jeans. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kejriwal said, “I heard PM Modi’s speech in Delhi. Apart from insulting me, he did not say anything else in his speech,” he said. “He said I only do dharnas… Yes, I will do dharnas every time the common man suffers.” It was not only Kejriwal who made a speech in Krishna Nagar. Earlier on Tuesday, Kiran Bedi also delivered a speech in which she said, “Delhi cannot make the same mistakes it made in the past. Delhi is tired now.” “I was hoping that Dr Harsh Vardhan would become the Delhi CM,” said Bedi. She also said that she would always turn to Harsh Vardhan for support whenever faced with a problem. “If Harsh Vardhan would’ve been the Delhi CM last year, Delhi would’ve seen growth and development.” She also said that the Delhi Police was waiting eagerly for her to become the Chief Minister. “No Delhi police officer will betray me. In fact, they are waiting eagerly for me to come to power.”
